Installing Qualcomm Atheros AR8162 Fast Ethernet Driver on Lenovo G400

I was preparing Lenovo G400 laptop for my linux class, after I installed CentOS 6.5 on it, tada,,,, my ethernet adapter won't show up. I checked with ifconfig command but where the hell my eth0 ??. Menyandingkan Windows 7 dan CentOS 7 dalam satu perangkat (komputer) yang sama ternyata tidak mudah, walaupun kedua OS tersebut sama-sama memiliki angka 7 di belakangnya :) Bila pada komputer kita sudah terinstal sistem operasi Windows dan berencana akan menginstal CentOS 7 sebagai sistem operasi yang kedua, ternyata caranya agak berbeda dengan tahapan instalasi dual-booting bila menggunakan CentOS 6. Bagi yang pernah mencoba untuk melakukannya mungkin kita mendapatkan setelah prosedur instalasi selesai ternyata pada menu GRUB2 kita tidak mendapatkan pilihan menu untuk masuk ke sistem operasi Windows kita. Hal tersebut ternyata akibat dari CentOS 7 belum bisa membaca partisi NTFS milik sistem operasi Windows, yang mengakibatkan menu GRUB2 tidak langsung menambahkannya di dalam menu booting komputer kita pada saat proses instalasi CentOS 7. Pelaksanaan Uji Kompetensi Keahlian TKJ TA.2014/2015

Beberapa waktu lalu, baru saja selesai melaksanakan Uji Kompetensi Keahlian untuk Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan. Kebetulan dari institusi tempat penulis bernaung, penulis masih dipercaya untuk menjadi Penguji Eksternal ( External Assesor ). Masih sama dengan pelaksanaan beberapa tahun yang lalu, pelaksanaan UKK ini merupakan bentuk kerjasama akademik yang dilakukan dengan sekolah-sekolah kejuruan yang berada di bawah Yayasan Abdi Karya Jakarta. Pada tahun akademik 2014/2015 ini siswa uji berasal dari sekolah-sekolah yang berada di Kabupaten Subang, Kota Bekasi dan Kabupaten Bogor . What is IP Masquerade ???

IP Masquerade is a networking function in Linux similar to the one-to-many (1:Many) NAT (Network Address Translation) servers found in many commercial firewalls and network routers. For example, if a Linux host is connected to the Internet via PPP, Ethernet, etc., the IP Masquerade feature allows other "internal" computers connected to this Linux box (via PPP, Ethernet, etc.) to also reach the Internet as well. Linux IP Masquerading allows for this functionality even though these internal machines don't have an officially assigned IP address . MASQ allows a set of machines to invisibly access the Internet via the MASQ gateway. To other machines on the Internet, the outgoing traffic will appear to be from the IP MASQ Linux server itself. how to install GIGABYTE ethernet driver for linux

systemd does not use /etc/inittab file to change the default runlevel. systemd uses symlinks to point to the default runlevel. Network Address Translation Network Address Translation (NAT) is the process where a network device, usually a firewall, assigns a public address to a computer (or group of computers) inside a private network. The main use of NAT is to limit the number of public IP addresses an organization or company must use, for both economy and security purposes. The most common form of network translation involves a large private network using addresses in a private range (10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255, 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255, or 192.168.0 0 to 192.168.255.255). CentOS 6.4 Released

March 12th 2013 The CentOS team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of CentOS 6.4 for i386 and x86_64 architectures. CentOS 6.4 is based on the upstream release EL 6.4 and includes packages from all variants. All upstream repositories have been combined into one, to make it easier for end users to work with. There are some very important changes to this release compared with the previous versions of CentOS and we highly recommend reading this announcement along with the Release Notes .
